UCMAS Training Stages and Brain Development

Stage 1: Children use UCTool (Special Abacus) for calculations and mental stimulation.

Stage 2: Use of Imaginary UCTool with bead manipulation in the air.

Stage 3: Pure Mental Calculations without movement of beads or physical Abacus.

Scientifically proven that abacus use stimulates brain cells, enhancing brain growth and development.

Learning Mental Arithmetic develops concentration, listening, observation, visualization, imagination, and retentive memory.

UCMAS Program Overview

UCMAS program has opened over 2000 learning centers worldwide in 70+ countries, training millions of children.

UCMAS certification is recognized by renowned examination bodies in over 60 countries.

Recognition includes National Associations, Association for Childhood Education International, LIMCA Book of Records, World Association of Abacus Mental Arithmetic, Chinese Zhusuan Association, and Malaysian Book of Records.

UCMAS Course Structure

Pre-School Children (Age 4–5 years)

  • Basic addition, subtraction with and without using UC Tool.
  • Learning games and activities, manipulating beads.

Basic to College Level Children (Age 6–15 years)

  • Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with and without using UC Tool.
  • Visualization, Listening, and speed calculation.

Course Duration and Requirements

Age Bracket: 4–15 Years

Levels: 10 levels (From Basic to Grand)

Course Duration:

  • 5–7 years for a school-based program
  • 3 years for an intense Club/center-based program (2 hours per week)

Teacher/Learner Ratio: 2:50 (For Government School Based); 1:20 (Ideal UCMAS)

Medium of Instruction: English and French

Certifying Authorities: UCMAS UC Tool & Mental Arithmetic Academy in collaboration with the China Zhusuan Association.
